Description
This class is for students who may own a rifle but are not comfortable with a rifle. It’s also for students who have little to no firearm experience. Whether you want to start a new hobby, take additional steps to protect yourself and loved ones, or you want to exercise your second amendment rights, this class will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and attitude to build a solid foundation so that the idea of owning/shooting a firearm won’t be so intimidating.
This Intro to Carbine Course discusses:
Firearm safety
Safe firearm storage
Rifle mechanism & operation
How to properly load/unload firearms
Ammunition fundamentals
Proper rifle shooting skills, shooting positions, & common shooting errors
Clearing rifle stoppages
Rifle maintenance, selection & use
Students will then implement the shooting techniques and safety precautions taught in class by practicing at an outdoor gun range. Range time can be scheduled on the same day as the class, or separately, depending on range availability.
The cost is a flat fee of $200. The cost covers the range fee, class material, and targets. This class is 4 hours total (2 hours in class and 2 hours on the range).
Students may bring their own rifle and ammo (120 rounds minimum). Firearms are allowed in the class but live ammunition is not permitted in the building. Make sure your firearm is in a bag or a case and unloaded.
*Please be sure to have the correct caliber ammo for your firearm BEFORE you sign in for the class.
If you do not own a rifle you can rent a rifle with 120 rounds of ammo for an additional fee. (Must request in advance)
